The Management course allows you to develop the vital skills needed to manage finance, people and information, while gaining a specialised body of knowledge in business disciplines.

Management involves the process of leading or directing an organisation, or some part of an organisation, by taking decisions concerning the deployment of resources. Key functions of management include planning, organising, leading, co-ordinating and controlling. During the Management course you will study the principles of management, and develop commercial awareness, leadership, communication and presentation skills.

Management is a highly competitive and rapidly changing sector in every modern economy. In recent years, forces such as globalisation, technological change, deregulation and international integration have fundamentally transformed the sector.

PROSPECTS

The programme prepares you to assume specialist, generalist managerial positions in organizations. Students graduating with a management major are employed by a variety of organizations in industries such as manufacturing, public utilities, oil and transportation, merchandising and banking, as well as government and non-profit entities. A degree in Management offers the student a career path at the entry level as: Management Intern, Supervisor, Administrative Manager, Office Executive, operations managers, management consultants, proprietor managers, purchasing managers or in other management positions . At the middle career level, students may become Office Administrators, Executive Secretaries or Administrative Assistants. A sound background in accepted management principles can accelerate progress to positions of greater responsibility such as graduate rising up to become General Manager, Managing Director or the Chief Executive Officers, Business Consultant/Analysts etc.
